Description

For sale is my Jaguar XK. It is a very rare care, being the E-Type 50th Anniversary Edition. Just one of 50 UK registered cars. It is finished in a stunning Cherry Black. In most lights this is a black with slight red metallic fleck. When it rains or you wear sunglasses the paint reveals a beautiful deep red. As it is the E-Type edition it comes in this beautiful black paint and the chrome has been replaced with gloss black. Inside there are many enhancements for this special edition. The seats are two tone, black and ivory leather. The headrests are embossed with the heritage jaguar badge. The plate on the sills also has the heritage badge. Maybe my favourite touch inside is the turned aluminium finish on the dash. It compliments the interior very well.

This car was originally purchased for a road trip to the Alps. It was fantastic and performed the role superbly. Quiet, comfortable, practical and happy to sit at German motorway speeds for long periods of time. I fell in love with the car and convinced myself that I should keep it. Unfortunately life happens. A Rhodesian Ridgeback pup has grown into a dog and no longer fits in the car. A year of commuting an hour each way in a 5 litre V8 was probably not the most sensible decision I've made. Now there is a wedding to fund. Ridgebacks are big, V8s are thirsty and weddings are expensive. Who knew? So after months of trying to convince myself that I can make it work, I've come to the realisation that the sensible thing to do is to sell the Jag.

The car has a fresh MOT as of February. It has full service history evidenced by stamps in the service book. The car has decent tread on all 4 tyres. After noticing a slow coolant leak I had it taken to my local Jaguar specialist and had the fault was found to be a crack in the coolant y piece so that was replaced. While there it was advised that the water pump should be replaced as it was showing slight degradation so that was replaced too. The Aux belt, thermostat and inlet manifold gasket were all replaced while there too, so the engine is in great working order. The car drives very well and is all set for many more miles.

If I were to keep hold of the car my next jobs would be to replace the heat shield under the car as it is loose and every now and then it can briefly make a little buzz noise. The rear brake discs fine but are nearer the end of their life than the start.

All in all, the car is in great condition for its age. It get's many compliments on how tidy it is. Do keep in mind that it is a 14 year old car. As much as I would like it to be a concours example it is not. The car is priced accordingly.

Any viewing or inspection is more than welcome. Any questions then just send me a message, I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.
