Elva Courier MkIII (Chassis 1066) - 1850cc Full Race Car
Ordered on the 19th March 1963 and made around September that year in the Trojan Works in Croydon (Lambretta Trojan Group) after they took over production in 1962 from the Frank Nichols Elva Factory in Hastings. Of course a number of Elvas were imported to the USA by Carl Haas, but we are not sure if this is one of them as it seems to have been bought by Stephens Motor Company, Illinois.
There are records of it racing in the States from 2013 to 2017 at tracks such as Thunder Hill and Sonoma. Re-Imported into the UK and arriving back at Felixstowe (with that chassis number it should have been Hastings) on the 2nd September 2019.
Meticulously maintained by WCE for those 6 years. With it’s current owner it has competed in 8 Equipe meetings at Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Donington and Oulton Park, with class wins & podium’s in 7 of those.
The engine is a WCE full race 1850cc unit, capacity checked & sealed with 5 hrs running. Fitted with steel crank, Arrow rods, forged pistons & new Burgess full race cylinder head. The specification includes a 4 synchro straight cut close ratio gearbox a diff with new plate type LSD. 14” Minator alloys with anthracite spokes fitted to the car with a full set of 4 spare wheels. New roll over bar fitted 2022 to comply with current regulations.
Original style instruments & dashboard, Kirkey alloy seat & Lifeline 4 litre plumbed in fire system.
