Description
1938 Red Panther as you can see it has not been renovated and totally original in almost every detail, as it can only look like this once, However the dynamo has been modernised by converting it to a 2 brush Lucas type with electronic solid state regulator. The ignition which was very early coil and condenser type have been converted to a Pazon electronic system for reliability. Early Panther machines has Miller electrical systems which I am sorry to say were notorious for unreliability. Lucas on the other hand had the trade mark (King of the road) The gearbox is a 3 speed Burman foot change, the speedometer is an original special made by Phelon and Moore these were optional extras. It has a new battery, everything working, good tyres. Notice the unusual Dunlop all rubber seat and rider bum pad/ pillion seat. The original Pitmans 'The book of Panther' comes with it.
