A true survivor of a car with only 40k believed-to-be original miles, this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am 10th Anniversary is in very good mechanical condition. Along with its special 10th Anniversary paint treatment, graphics, and wheels, this '79 Trans-Am is also a fantastic example, well-optioned with factory A/ C, a working original stereo, T-Tops and more. Powered by a Oldsmobile 403 C. I. (6. 6 Liter) V8 that breathes through a "Shaker" hood intake and a 4-barrel carburettor. Behind the 403 sits a reliable TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, allowing for seamless shifting and a smooth ride. The paint is a little faded in places but still very presentable, featuring a tri-color combination of silver, black, and red. The floors, frame, trunk and jambs on this '79 Pontiac are all rock-solid after receiving a rust proof treatment from new. Stepping into the interior feels just like stepping back into 1979, as the comfortable, silver leather bucket seats are perfect for long-distance cruising and listening to tunes on the working factory-installed radio. This '79 Trans-Am is absolutely loaded with options, and all of them work including the clock. They include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, factory gauges & tachometer, a working original AM/ FM/ stereo with original and working power aerial, power windows, power locks, A/ C, a remote driver's mirror, factory T-Tops, a Shaker hood intake, working cruise control, a working rear defroster, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust system. In addition, the car rides over stock 15" Pontiac "Salad-Shooter" wheels over Cooper Cobra RWL tires for an eye-catching period correct look. The Trans Am was imported in 2019 and I’m only the 2nd owner.
I looked for quite sometime before I found this very original unmolested car. It really is the most solid 2nd gen I viewed or owned in the past.
Many new parts fitted including, coolant hoses, discs and pads brake hoses etc
It has just had its original carb rebuilt, new harmonic damper fitted,
Engine / trans fluid and filters changed by AutoPontiac.
The interior is in very good condition and original.
Drives extremely well.
