Description
Restoration, will need a trailer.
This is a Triumph Gentry, a classic kit car that, in this case, uses the engine from a 2l Triumph Vitesse and a body kit in the style of an MG TD. Some electrical work is needed, the headlights on the right do not come on, as well as the indicator on the right. The rear left indicator also does not function.
I was in the process of getting the dash done, so have filled and sanded what is there, but didn't get around to choosing a style before I noticed the electrical issues, the dials in there are not the greatest too, and would likely need replacing as a set.
Currently, the engine does not start, but does crank on battery. I believe this is a fuel issue, as I am getting a spark and the compression is the same across all 6 cylinders.
The windscreen on one side is also loose, I purchased some frames that will need to be drilled and can be fit which will be with the car.
Brakes have been changed all round, and have only been tested with a drive around the block.
Roof is in good condition, barely used because who drives in the rain? The frame is made so that it is collapsible and can hide away in the rear storage compartment. The side windows can be stored behind the seats, just about. I bought this when I was way too young, and got a loan out when I got my first proper job. The clutch went on it, which was replaced, but I never fully got it back on the road since then due to random little jobs. The latest of which was that one of the lights stopped working. Tracing the wires seemed to be OK so I started to work backwards and got to a point where I can't figure out the next steps. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I will unfortunately not get her back on the road, and she deserves it.
She was a beautiful car, and will be again with the right owner. She pulled along beautifully.
I always wanted to get a rack and picnic basket for the rear to take her on drives and have a picnic, but as stated, that unfortunately never happened. Life got in the way.
I really want her to go to someone who can get her back on the road and cherish her as she should have been with me.
