I have owned this diamond blue Mercedes for approaching 13 years, having purchased it from a friend. He owned it from 1997, so between us the last 28 years out of it’s 38 years. Only 3 previous owners before us. My friend had it SORN for a few years due to the arrival of twins, hence gaps in the MOT/ service history. It has been garaged for the last 20 years with dry, summer use only.
The excellent Blue bodywork is paired with a dark blue leather interior which has a lovely patina and dark blue mohair soft top, which is also in great condition. It has the rear seat option, with 2 x 3 point belts that I had fitted for my children's safety. It has the original matching hardtop, which has been safely stored and not used since I purchased the car. It has a stainless steel exhaust. The chrome is in good condition. All 5 alloys have been refurbished and are in unmarked condition, with the best new SL Shop supplied bolts used.
It has an extensive service history, a great MOT record and has had lots of key components replaced during my tenure, detailed below, with receipts to prove. The engine runs very smoothly, with excellent pressure.
The car comes with 12 months MOT (tested 30th April). The bulkhead shows no sign of rust. Photos of the bulkhead inspection from inside the cockpit are included (undertaken April 2025).
The maintenance book shows regular work and services until 2001, a service in 2007 then another gap until I purchased it. One full service at a local independant in 2014, with all other work and services under my ownership being completed at a local garage run by an ex-mercedes mechanic who worked on R107's from when they were launched. Invoices for all this work are available. Indoor dust cover, original toolkit and fire extinguisher included.
I simply don’t use the car enough to justify keeping it any longer. It’s ready to be driven away and enjoyed. Any inspection is welcome.

2012
New Radiator installed. Replaced fuel pipe breather hose, charcoal filter. Throttle ball, guide and roller. New oil pressure switch.
2013
Replaced 2 x dash speakers & new head unit (modern). 4 x New Tyres.
2014
2 x 3 point rear belts installed. Replaced Fuel Pipe
Replaced heater valve
2015
Engine mounts replaced.
Master brake cylinder replaced. Soft top tension wire repaired. Gearbox service.
2016
New brake calipers & pads installed x 4
Handbrake shoe, pads & hose.
2 x shock absorbers.
2018
New head gasket, cylinder head skimmed, valve guides, valve seats recut, viscous coupling & plugs replaced. Replaced hoses on injector system.
Changed drive belt.
Replaced steering damper.
2019
New Alternator.
2020
5 x wheels refurbed, with new SL Shop supplied premium bolts.
2023
Welding repairs around jacking points. Replaced Water Pump.
Battery isolator fitted.
2024
New Starter Motor.
Faults.
Only one key & it only works in the driver's door. Central locking works.
Clock not working.
1” portion of Wooden trim missing/ broken by heater controls, pictured.
Chrome trim missing on one seat, pictured.
Chrome trim loose on passenger mirror adjustment, clip broken, pictured.
Dash is cracked - though this hasn’t changed since I purchased it, pictured.
Soft top plastic rear screen would benefit from polishing.
Very small amount of paint bubbles on the rear right of the hard top, pictured.
