Description
1962 Innocenti spider 950s imported from Italy in 2019.
These are very rare cars and even more so in the so in the UK where they were never imported, hence left-hand drive.
Attracts a lot of attention wherever you go.
The car is basically an Austin Healey sprite mk1 “frogeye” with a specific Italian body and interior. It was designed by Tom Tjaarda (de Tomaso Pantera, Ferrari 365 California, Fiat 124, Fiesta mk1) at Ghia (hence the Ghia badges behind the front wheels) for the Innocenti brand (also known for their Minis and Lambretta scooters).
Engine, gearbox and all mechanical elements (suspension, steering, or otherwise) are common with the frogeye so parts are easily available and cheap.
The car is complete and includes all the specific trim elements of the period.
Engine is the Austin 948cc with twin SU carbs.
The car presents and drives very well.
Everything works as it should, including all dashboard gauges.
Small history file with some pictures before restauration in Italy.
Car visible in Bentley, Hampshire.
Reason for selling is I have a baby so it is getting much less use now.
