Description
Up for sale is my very early build Innocenti Cooper 1300 Export.
Restored and finished about seven years ago but never put back on the road until recently after undertaking some mechanical recommissioning work at the cost of £2000.
the car had been off the road since 1989 after being imported by an Italian guy in 1984 for his wife in the UK and then converted to RHD, the car was then sold and restored over over a period of years, i then bought it from the second UK owner and owned it myself for around eighteen months and its just stood alongside my other cars in storage.
As you can see from the pictures the body has been totally restored with many new panels. I have all the bills and photos of the work done and within the history file is the original Italian registration wallet etc. I believe the engine is the original as it as also an early engine build number and has the earlier duplex chain set up.
the car pulls very well with plenty of power after just being gone through with a service, carburettor rebuild, tune up, new clutch and fuel tank etc.
I have also just had the roof painted again as the paint work is not the best although looks pretty good in the pictures. the doors and rear boot lid i would say are the worst as they are the originals and not replaced with new. I have reflected this in the price as these very collectable Export models are fetching quite high prices for good ones. Ideal for someone not looking to do all the expensive time consuming restoration work.
Still needs a couple little jobs to finish off but nothing serious.
Thanks
Steve
