Description
Yamaha RD 250 in butterfly blue , UK registered from new in November 1973 . Matching frame and engine numbers and original Yamaha key with the rubber cover still fitted . This motorcycle is in superb restored condition and only deviates from standard by having stainless steel spokes fitted , it still runs its original points and condensers and original reg/ rec. with so many having been converted with the usual butchering to the wiring loom and connectors . The bike has been mine for the last 12 years and hasnt seen rain in that time the underside of the mudguards are totally rust free as is the rest of the bike . The seat is in superb condition with its original metal base and I suspect the original Yamaha cover , many having been replaced with poor fitting aftermarket covers , when I bought the bike it came with a set of RD 350 barrels , heads and pistons , it was my intention to have these fitted but I never got around to do it if you would be interested in these parts and agree to pay the asking price for the bike these parts are free or you could make an offer for both or just the bike , these genuine 350 kits are very rare now , kits from India are on sale but the port timing is different to lower the power output and they will be of poor quality compared with genuine Yamaha. To summerise a superb condition RD that needs nothing doing and rare in that its UK registered from new most of the ones on sale being USA imports . Please disregard the mileage reading I suspect it has been set back to zero when the restoration was carried out please view the DVSA MOT history online . I also have some pre. computerised paper certificates indicating the bike was stored for many years . The previous owner had the bike restored , I have invoices from Yambits for replacement master cylinder , front brake flexible hoses , fuel tap , rear brake parts and various other items.
