Please fully read the advert carefully, to appreciate just how the pricing was arrived at . Autotrader has valued mine as a standard unenhanced 30th Anniversary Edition, at Twenty one thousand six hundred and fifty pounds...... so the question is, do the enhancements and extras installed, justify the higher asking price? For some the answer will be NO, for others however who want what must be close to the ultimate in Naturally Aspirated MX-5's... just maybe.
The standard 184bhp engine has received a 36bhp upgrade from respected tuning firm BBR, via natural aspiration.
Possibly an even more impressive upgrade was the addition of Ohlins suspension, which transforms the ride and road-holding over a standard MX-5, the braking system also upgraded.
This results in a car that is a great all-rounder.
As a daily, or driving with any modicum of restraint, it is well equipped, quiet, comfortable and in general a civilised place to be, regularly achieving an economy of circa 42-46 mpg, coupled with the typical MX-5 fun quotient.
However, get beyond circa 3-4k revs. the car is transformed into a genuinely capable sports car, enhanced by the addition of the BBR220 engine upgrade (adding circa 40 bhp over OEM Mazda) along with a full BBR exhaust, Google 'BBR220 review' to read respected reviewers impressions of this conversion. If 0-60mph times are important to you, this is rated as 5. 4 secs.
The sublime ride and road-holding is the result of a complete set of Ohlins Road + Track coil-over units, up-rated front and rear anti-roll bars and full under-body bracing. Camber bolts allowed a full 4 wheel alignment set-up that is confidence inspiring, with superb steering feel and precision. In summary the car feels 'planted' whilst still giving a very forgiving ride < a trick that only the most sophisticated and usually very expensive set-ups manage to achieve.
Braking is by a 4 piston Brembo big- brake kit at the front, along with braided lines, Carbotech Xp10 pads... this set up is massively effective for such a lightweight car, again confidence inspiring.
A non- intrusive, subtle removable aero kit, along with a 'stubby' aerial, complete and enhance the timeless body design along with the distinctive unmarked orange paint and bodywork of the desirable 30th Edition. The orange theme from the 30th Anniversary Edition continues with the Recaro seats, gear gaitor and dashboard fabric all having matching orange stitching.
The installed enhancements/ extras would currently cost roughly fifteen thousand pounds, well under a third of that sum is reflected in this asking price.
If the car achieves its full asking price, I will include a virtually new BBR Super Sports exhaust, at no additional cost that a previous owner had purchased.

MOT history is excellent with zero advisories, due again April 2026. The car has zero scratches or dings, or any signs of rust underneath, the distinctive orange paintwork gleams.

As a final comment, the standard OEM Mazda MX-5 is a fun car that displays good road manners, this advertised car substantially elevates all of the standard car virtues onto a totally different plane, it is more OEM++, but it is most definitely not simply a track oriented special, it retains the very easy going nature of a stock OEM MX-5 at all times. The only way to prove that statement is for a potential buyer to test-drive the car on some of the wonderful roads in my locality ..... I will guarantee you will NOT be disappointed!
