1990 Peugeot 205 GTI 1. 6 presented in Alpine White with Quartet Red/ Black Upholstery.
Supplied new in April 1990 to its first owner Mrs Robertson by Mayfield Peugeot Dealers in Halifax. The car was used for a daily commute and remained in this ownership until 2011 when Mrs Robertson retired. They sold it to a short term owner who parted with it quite quickly after assuring the Robertsons he would use it for car shows etc and was sold via Four Star Classics in 2016 a fellow enthusiast from whom I purchased the car in 2019.
Make no mistake that this is not a concourse car; it is a very useable and very presentable GTi which drives very well. You could spend some money on it if you wanted to and improve the car but it sits very comfortably at any car show and gets a lot of admiring looks and pleasant comments.
The car bears 90, 100 miles and has 12 months MOT. There is a quite exceptional history file which includes the original invoice and order form; comprehensive service record and receipts, the original brochures, radio code card and removal tools, extended warranty card plus much more. The car history is a credit to the owners who have lovingly kept hold of everything. There are also two sets of keys. There is some correspondence from the original owners whom I wrote to in 2021 and they kindly replied.
The car has had various bits of paint over the years but as I said it does present well. I believe there has been a sill weld repair at some point on the drivers side. I do have some photos of the underside and the inner wings. The sunroof is in full working order and does not leak and has no rust. The radio works although the LCD screen is patchy.
As a point of interest, the car is the exact model used for the Corgi Vanguards model and even sports the same registration plate.
I am only selling the car as I do not have the space I once had to store all of my cars and I am simply not using it. It has done less than 150 between the last MOT's and it needs to go to someone that will love and use it.
The car is located in Henley-in-Arden and any inspection/ test drive is welcomed and encouraged.
