Description

Built by me with the help of friends in 2007 to make a run at the 2008 BRSCC Porsche 924 Championship title.

Was a great series that due to its strict regulations meant very competitive racing.

Whilst a front running car of which I led a lot of races that season with. A faulty piece of fuel pipe about 6 inches long caused a lot of DNF's and me to throw in the towel at the end of the season, only to come back the following year once I had calmed down a bit with a different car, thankfully finally winning the 2009 Championship.

I sold the car at the end of the 2008 season having replaced all the fuel lines and the following owner reported the car to run really well thereafter. I always asked him that if he ever sold it, to give me first refusal as I had a sentimental attachment to the car.

The chap I sold the car to had the engine blow up on him a couple of years ago and he subsequently sourced a rebuilt 2nd hand engine. He and his son tried to replace it, but couldn't get it going. Time meant the car never got any further than that and he got in contact with me to ask if I wanted the car back.

I was keen to get it back and return it to its former glory, however, the arrival of a new baby has led me to realise it's not going to happen anytime soon. Therefore it has to go.

Specification:

-Safety Devices roll cage
-Plumbed in extinguisher (in need of servicing)
-Custom made wiring loom with high quality switches etc
-ETB Digidash dash along with datalogger
-944 Aluminium radiator
-Piper cam (the only engine modification the series allowed-produced round 133bhp)
-Custom built stainless steel exhaust system (not manifold)
-Mocal catch tank
-Remote oil cooler
-Strut brace
-Fibreglass bonnet, front wings, (spare included), front panel, bumpers and lower valence
-GAZ adjustable competition shock absorbers with variable rate springs on the front

-Compomotive 15"x7" aluminium wheels
-Perspex side windows and rear window, (rear misted up)

There isn't a seat or belts with the car (please don't ask if I have any as I don't).

This isn't a large project, but it does require someone taking the time to just go through it and put it back together.

The body shell is a rare and desirable non sunroof shell that were lighter than the common sunroof versions.

The body shell itself appears to be very solid with only some surface rust underneath.

I can probably dig out the race results from when 2008 if the new buyer wanted.

The car is being sold as seen and essentially as spare or repairs.

Eligible for series' like CALM Porsche Trophy and CSCC Modern and Future classics series'
