Description
Here is my incredible, low mileage, unrestored 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo.
The car is in really excellent condition inside and out and I’m reluctantly selling to make way for another recent classic purchase. I’ve also just sold my Ferrari 308gt4 too but I can’t pick between them!
There’s no rust anywhere on it, underneath is super solid and clean as Porsche used galvanised steel so corrosion isn’t an issue if well looked after like this one.
All the wheel arches are very clean and unpatched with their original paint.
The interior leather seats, fabric and carpets are like factory new and the removable sunroof has its two original leather bags for storage.
It has been a real pleasure owning and driving this car - I bought it from Peter Vardy in Edinburgh nearly 6 years ago where it had had some recommissioning work after they had it in storage for some time.
With it being a low mileage car it didn’t need much but they went through everything to make sure it was reliable and safe to use and drive.
Brakes, suspension and steering were thoroughly checked over and anything that needed it was replaced.
During my ownership it’s had a new alternator and battery, clutch and only a few months ago I had the whole K-Jetronic fuel injection system replaced, reconditioned, professionally bench tested and recalibrated so it now runs efficiently and like factory new.
It starts both hot and cold first time, every time.
It’s also had a new turbo boost switch that kicks in as good as ever to give you that unmistakable whistle and smooth, rapid acceleration!
The car has been meticulously cared for all its life and it’s obvious when you see it - the paint is still bright and vivid in Guards Red and the beige Pacha Sports interior sets it off to look the best of its era.
It is a well known and greatly admired example on the classic Porsche circuit having been shown and displayed at many events around the country (see the photo at the 2017 Classic Car Show at Birmingham NEC).
A previous owner kept the mileage low by using it for shows and trailering it for regular MOTs.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the launch of this iconic model for Porsche.
The Turbo was a massive upgrade on the initial standard 924 making it on par with the 911 of the day for performance. However, it was widely recognised as a better handling, more practical car that could be used happily around town while being a thrilling motorway drive and comfortable Grand Tourer.
Prices are still unbelievably low for the car that this is, parts are readily available and reasonably priced for a classic Porsche.
It’s currently a great deal of Porsche for the money so that only means prices will go up in the near future.
I have a folder of invoices and Porsche dealership stamped service book.
Please contact for further details, thanks!
