Description
This car is a wonderful example of the much sought after and desirable Austin Healey 3000 MkIIA BJ7, one of only 455 UK original right-hand drive models produced. Having driven only 10, 459 miles since full rebuild 30 years ago, the car is in beautiful condition in a stunning Colorado red over black.
Of particular note the car has a Denis Welch tuned head, matching upgraded SU carbs, fast road cam and exhaust, an alloy high-capacity racing radiator, dynamic crank balancer, alternator conversion, 321 programmable ignition and many other improvements, for which further details can be provided.
Other specifications include:
- Alloy wings and alloy louvered bonnet
- Motolita Steering Wheel
- 72-spoke wire wheels (recently restored)
- Overdrive
- Laminated windscreen
- Full leather upholstery
- New tyres
- Black tonneau cover and hood cover
- High capacity geared starter motor
A hard top is also available as are original parts such as the dynamo, starter motor, steering wheel etc.
The car comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, original log book and registration number, MOT certificates and an archive of all work undertaken, with receipts.
It is a stunning, rare and and serious car for which appropriately serious enquiries would be appreciated. The service history and evidence of the love and attention languished on this Healey are evidenced by many original documents (including MOTs) and receipts for work. As shown on its Heritage Trust certificate, the car was first registered in Glamorgan in March/ April 1963. The original registration book and the more recent V5 show that the car has had 5 previous owners. It has been in our ownership and much loved since 2001, although the car was known to our family for over 30 years years prior to this date.
