I've owned my SL 500 for seven years and have maintained it to a high standard. It is in excellent condition inside and out. The roof, central locking and electrics all work as they should. A massive bonus with this car is that the troublesome ABC suspension has been replaced with adjust able coilovers and anti roll bars. The suspension works brilliantly in ride comfort and is especially good through bends with virtually no body roll. The car has had the following work done in addition to regular oil changes.
SBC pump replaced at 62000miles
Start battery replaced at 68000 miles
New front and rear brake discs and pads at 68000miles.
Coilover suspension fitted at 70000miles.
Fuel tank replaced at 70000 miles
Gear shifter internal lever replaced 70000 miles.
Consumer battery replaced 71600 miles
4 new Pirelli tyres at 71600 miles.
Crankshaft sensor at 72100 miles.
There is also a front and rear dash cam, a Viseeo bluetooth phone system.
Comand system with 6CD changer and sat nav with disc.
The seats are heated with massage function.
Headlights are HID.
I am a retired mechanic of 33 years and bought my SL as a hobby car. All work and maintenance has been done by myself and in the workshop of my former employer. As can be seen I hardly use it and although I love it it's time to sell it. A new owner will get the benefit of all the work that has been done. The personal reg number has been removed the VRN is now DL03 GHG
