Description
This is a lovely MZ RT 125 that has had two previous owners. It was brought to the UK by a British service man that was stationed in Germany and was subsequently sold to an Australian gentleman based out of London from whom I bought the bike when he was moving back to Australia.
The bike is in excellent condition with an original engine that has under 10, 000 miles on it and has undergone significant restoration with a fresh clutch set, an upgraded Mikuni carburettor tailored to the bike and a new tailor made to original specifications exhaust. The electronics have been completely overhauled with a 12v battery coupled with a power dynamo and discreet moto gadget indicators. The bike has also been fitted with single saddles and had a new chain and chain guards fitted as well as pillion passenger foot rests. Finally, the bike also benefits from a brand new tachometer which while in KM, per the original, accurately reads the speed.
All the original components, whether functional or not, have been kept and are available with the bike as well as all the original paperwork, including the 1960s manual of the bike. A spare front wheel is also available along with the original tool set of the bike. I believe this is the only example of the bike in the UK and one of the last remaining functioning MZ RT 125/ 3 models out there. Being an avid MZ enthusiast I would argue this is one of the best maintained MZ RT 125/ 3 examples outside of a museum. The bike rides like new and is very easy to drive. I am only selling as will be upgrading to another classic model with a slightly bigger engine.
