Description

I bought this car two years ago and undertook to complete its renovation. In fact, apart from the exceptional condition of the chassis and bodywork for its age and the fact that the engine had been completely refurbished, there was still a lot of work to be done on this car, but it was a very good basis on which to work. When I bought it, a stainless steel exhaust system and engine rebuild had already been carried out.

Over the past two years, the following additional work has been carried out:

- change of water pump (the bearings had aged badly, and the pump damaged the radiator because its shaft had moved forwards) - change of radiator - change of fan blades - change of alternator, the old alternator was too worn and the unreliable electrical system of the xj6s of that era motivated me to replace it with an xj12 alternator, which was simpler and more solid,
- change of rear silent-blocks + tie rods - change of rear brake callipers - change of rear discs - change of hand brake pads - change of front brake discs + callipers (Fosseway performance callipers) - change of rear (x4) and front (x2) gas-charged shock absorbers - change of tyres - change of brake servo - change of central indicators - installation of a "123 ignition" + high-capacity coil - refurbishment of the brake master cylinder (seals + kit) - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery - refurbishment of all the interior upholstery. refurbishment of all interior upholstery - refurbishment of dashboard woodwork (new veneer + varnish) - change of speedometer cable - refurbishment of door jambs - suede-type dashboard cover - installation of front seatbelt with retractor - installation of high-power LED lights (dipped beam + headlights) - geometry - refurbishment of rocker cover gasket - refurbishment of rear parcel shelf (suede) - installation of 1DIN car radio (installation of cradle, cutting, etc.), To be perfect, I'd have to deal with a small trace of rust on the bonnet and do a complete polishing of the paintwork (which is original, although I suspect some touch-ups by previous owners).
The windscreen seals are hard and should be replaced to ensure a perfect seal. This is not an emergency, but they are starting to show signs of fatigue. The condition of the vehicle suggests that it has been impeccably maintained for many years, as evidenced by the presence of very little surface rust under the chassis. It has always been parked in a covered car park.
