A 1937 4. 2 litre RAILTON FAIRMILE III DROPHEAD COUPE bodywork by Coachcraft.
The car was first registered on the 10th June 1937 as MG 5336
A complete nut and bolt rebuild with no expense spared on this extremely rare classic.

Completely restored by The Vintage Carraige company from 1997-2001 at a cost of over £130k by the fastidious owner who sadly died shortly after having driven only 1500 mile since.
In June 2002 it was show at the Railton Owners Club National meeting at Hever Castle when it was awarded the John Cobb Cup which is the clubs Concours D Etat Trophy.
Maintained ever since n a purpose built garage and with annual MOT s having been arranged by the estate manager until the recent death of the owner’s late wife.
A superbly kept archive with over 150 photographs and box files of paperwork detailing every step of the work.
The detailed schedule of work includes completely new wiring with two cable system to prevent shorting through body earth return. Considerably improved cooling system to prevent overheating, installation of drainage system for any fuel leaks from carburettor. Sympathetically added modern indicators and double dipping headlights have been installed. The car has a hidden immobiliser and carries a fire extinguisher. Original handbook .
The no expense paintwork and respray was undertaken by a Super Yacht company in Southampton the end result being an eye-catching modern colour combination.
By 2002 at the time it was being driven only 10 series III survived worldwide and valued by the Railton owners club at £75000.
Currently being stored in climate-controlled specialist car storage near Winchester Hampshire.
