Description
For sale is this very pretty, very cute 1973 Classic Fiat 500 in rare Right Hand Drive and showing a mileage of 49000
It starts, runs and drives well and at some point seems to have had the original 500 engine replaced with a 650. It has a working stereo and 2 keys
It is finished in a period beige/ yellow with a black vinyl interior
Mechanically the engine runs well but if I were to keep it would look to install electronic ignition and get rid of the tiresome points. Gearbox goes through all gears well
Bodywise it is solid underneath and no welding is needed or any major restoration – underneath is undersealed and looks to have been done fairly recently. Noticed a slight bit of corrosion on bottom of door but nothing major and not something you can see
The paint is probably the worst aspect of the car and it’s not too bad, ideally it could do with a bit of love – possibly a couple of places where a spray would enhance it where it looks like it may have been poorly done in the past. Depends how far you want to take it of course
Interior-wise there are no rips in seats but could do with a proper clean
Bright-work not great around windows but relatively cheap and easy to replace – has a new front bumper and new front lights as they were showing their age
Selling as I don’t have anywhere to keep it inside and looking to purchase another classic car.. so, as cute and pretty as it is – it has to go. I’ve had it for getting on a year and haven’t used it – it’s showing 8 previous owners
Bad bits
Fuel gauge not working
Would benefit from a bit of fettling esp some paint
Quarter light catch needs re-glueing… I don’t have anything strong enough but catch is here
It shows as being registered in 1971 but UK registered a couple of years later – no idea why – hard to find out from 50-odd years ago
Comes with V5 and is HPI Clear
