A rare chance to acquire a beautifully restored example of BMW’s iconic R100GS, in the most sought after ‘bumblebee’ colourway — the bike that helped define the adventure touring category. This 1990 model is in superb mechanical and cosmetic condition, following a comprehensive professional restoration by Lacey’s Motorcycles over the winter of 2024–25 (you can see some more of their stellar work on their Instagram account @laceysmotorcycles).
With just 17, 015 miles from new, this bike is a genuine low-mileage survivor with a known history: first registered in Glasgow in August 1990 and sold through Scotbike, it remained in the same family from new (2 former keepers) until I purchased it in November 2024.
The restoration was entrusted to Lacey’s Motorcycles — award winning classic motorcycle restorers — and no corners were cut. Nearly £4, 300 was invested, with fully documented work and parts including:
