This Fairlane has been stored for the last 10 years, she has only had ONE previous owner and has, for the first time since 1971, been offered up for sale out of the family that has owned her since new.
This Fairlane, with 56 574 on the clock since 1971, has the most beautiful interior I have ever seen on any Fairlane or Fairmont. She almost smells new.
We pulled her out on the 4th of March 2025, sent her off to have a good once-over for the mechanical, we replaced the water pump, and redid the fuel tank. Spending just over ZAR20 000 on her, making sure she awakens from her slumber with ease. She still has the second set of tires that she has ever had, and factory hubcaps.
We were truly mesmerised by this vehicle and the story from the owner. He was born in 1949 and inherited the vehicle from his father in 2002. Since owning her, he has only done 10 000 kms with her and has held on to her with everything in him, but has decided to let her go.
This vehicle does have a few paint flaws from being washed over the years. We did opt not to do any paint work on her as a car is only original once, but we have had her detailed and polished.
She is fully licensed and registered as Used 1971.
