Description
This is another car I am loathe to sell as I absolutely love it....(see also my advert for my MK2 Golf Gti)...... but this wonderful BMW has more than served it's purpose for me and with a company car inbound any day now, and limited storage..... being a 5/ 6 car family when it's just me, the better half and the dog..... is hard to justify no matter how I do the man maths....
So this lovely E92 is now surplus to requirements having served me faithfully for the past 6 years.
It's in wonderful original condition - some stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper where they always get them, but the bodywork is beautiful overall with no dings and dints, no rust anywhere whatsoever and lovely factory panel gaps all around. I brought this car originally as I wanted to try out the driving position in an E92 prior to going for an M3 and found it to be all the daily sports car you could ever need...
This is a relatively 'rare' version of this car in that it is an early genuine factory M-Sport 330i with the famous and sought after N52 engine in it, rather than the later N53 engine that is in most of the 325 and 330 petrol versions of the E9X platform thereafter.
BMW apparently started rolling out the N53 into the E9x platform in mid-2007 and I have never seen ANY E92 Coupe M-Sports earlier than 2007 also, so I think there is literally only about a 6 to 8 month production window for the E92 Coupe M-Sport with this sought after engine in. I have seen a few saloon E90 M-Sport versions on late 2006 plates come up, but never anything earlier than a 2007 for the Coupe.
If you know you know, and whilst the N53 is still a good engine, the N52 is considered one of the best BMW have ever made, certainly in recent years, and is literally bullet proof reliability wise...
I brought the car in June 2019 on 84K miles and am only the 4th owner. It's shared the daily duties with my trusty Disco, but now that we are fully relocated to Somerset, I am retiring both this and the Disco in favour of the company car as it just makes more sense with the business miles I need to do now.....
It had a full service and MOT in March, a couple of rear suspension components and a pair of new rear tyres followed by a FULL specialist geometry alignment, so it literally is good to go for many, many more miles.
In the years I have had it I have replaced most of the common little niggles these have i. e. brand new OEM electric water-pump fitted last year, new starter motor 4 years ago, new oem rocker cover - they are plastic and warp slightly with age causing oil leaks - this has all been sorted along with the oil filter housing seal and cam shaft sensor seal - again common N52 niggles, but all sorted.
It's also had 2 x new rear oem shocks and mounts about 4 years ago, and the previous owner addressed the ABS pump issue that these cars can suffer from, so there are no worries there.
Being the N52 also, these engines don't suffer with any of the High Pressure Fuel Pump issues of the N53/ N54 engines so you don't have to worry about that.
It had all new discs and pads and fluid all-round about 2 years/ 10k miles ago so there are no issues on that side either.
The Gearbox and diff were fully serviced back in 2020/ 21 at around 90K miles with new correct oil and the BMW friction modifier that is recommended also put in.
The car is fitted with a set of 19" MV4 twin spoke BMW alloys that were refurbished in Ferric Grey and as mentioned, have brand new Uniroyal Rainsport 5s on the rear and Michelin PS4's on the front with about 4mm tread remaining.
I also have the original 18" MV3 alloys which are in good used condition with 2 x usable Bridgestone Runflat tyres on them and 2 x tyres that will need changing - this can be included also.
The car genuinely wants for nothing and I have been using it to cover off the longer commutes I have to do for work and to dash back and forth between Somerset and Hampshire this last year, and it has excelled at that.
The spec is relatively basic - no clunky old sat nav - I think the dash looks cleaner for it personally and the system that was in these cars at this time is very dated now....
Full electric M-Sport seats with lumbar support as well, Xenon lights, front and rear PDC, lighting package (puddle lights and door handle lights etc.) It has a older but professionally installed Parrot Bluetooth system in it, which works well, and I'm certain the speakers and possibly the audio amplifier have been upgraded previously as the sound quality through the CD player or the aux-in on my i-Phone sounds waaaaayy-better than the base BMW system should.... It has the brilliant proper M-Sport steering wheel fitted as well - literally the most comfortable wheel I've ever handled with the excellent push/ pull paddles meaning you can change up or down the gears with either paddle, rather than up for one side, and down with the other....
Weirdly as a left hander... this was a game changer for me!!All the original book packs are present, with 2 x keys and there is plenty of paperwork from my ownership and the previous owners, and stamps in the book from the 2 owners prior to that.
I think that's about it for now - please look at the pictures and fire away with any questions and for clarity, no part ex I'm afraid for another car.... I HAVE to reduce the amount of cars I own..... but I might consider an interesting watch... :)
