Hello welcome to the sale of my 1979 RD250 I’ve owned this for 4 years
It has matching frame and engine numbers 1A2-5206**
When purchased and looking to have little wear it was still on standard bore but decided to have a top end refresh so on a +1 ( original pistons included) barrels are free from any porting or wizardry.
In addition a leak down test was done with no issues and continues to be free from issue.
She rides and revs crisp and cleanly through the range without flat spots
Selects gears and neutral without issue
I can confirm Carbs, Barrels and standard exhausts are as they should be “2R8”.
I had the side engine casings newly coated with new decals as these had the normal boot marks (never been removed before still had original gaskets that I’ve kept when fitting new ones) but can confirm the engine does not appear too of been apart or mucked around with.
I have the original good condition side casing bolts should stainless not be your thing.
Seat has had a new cover at some point and the seat pan/ base is in good solid condition .
Chrome is in standard condition not concourse but presentable
Wheels are in original condition and haven’t been painted along with excellent Avon Road Rider 2 tyres which I had fitted as its originals were cracked with age.
Allspeeds purchased new by me have receipt , complete standard useable 2R8 exhausts included (some marks)
Centre Stand and springs also included.
Original Yamaha key/ locks
She rides great and has never let me down and has always started within a couple of kicks.
Now for the negative- Unfortunately the tank has minor damage from some items in my shed falling on it (yes I was gutted ) I will show this in the pictures .
She is good to ride away shame it’s going but time moves on and I’ve scratched my itch.
I have had a few questions so will post the answers for all to see-
I can confirm it runs its correct ignition and charging system that is in perfect order .
The carburettors are original model correct 2R8
