Description
The time has come to sell my BX GTi in my possession for 26 years. A long time Citroen Car Club member I have always kept it in good order both mechanically and the bodywork too.
It is still a delight to drive and travel in over long distances. Fitted with aircon it was always cool during our trips to Europe.
I have records of all the work done which includes a bottom end engine recon in 2015, a respray to smarten it up in 2017, new spheres from time to time as required and bits of welding to the sills and roof when needed done both locally and at Chevronics.
A recent cambelt change and MOT ensures that the car is fully operational and usable straight away.
On the downside the sunroof is a bit sluggish at first when sliding back but unusually the glass roof itself is showing no rust. There is a very slow slight fluid weep from the front of the pressure regulator which does not result in any dripping LHM that I have ever noticed. The aircon gas has leaked out and it is no longer operational.
There are a few blemishes on the paintwork here and there notably on door edges but nothing excessive or out of keeping with the car’s 35 years of age. The wheels could do with a bit of attention as the photos will show. It’s an Auto model but has been converted to a manual change gearbox with a higher geared 5th gear to provide reduced engine noise at speed. for relaxed cruising.
