Description
The 1961 Ford Thunderbird featured a new, larger 390 cu in (6. 4 L) FE-series V8 engine. This was the only engine available for the model year. The third generation of the Thunderbird, which included the 1961 model, was known for its sleeker styling. It was also the Indianapolis 500 pace car for 1961 and appeared in President John F. Kennedy's inaugural parade.
