From long-term ownership by a Mini collector this genuine Cooper'S' is in excellent condition following a full bare shell restoration in 2007.
The car retains it's original shell and was restored using Mini Machine classic panels and has the unique Cooper 'S' features including boot board brackets, diagonal front panel stiffener, fuel tank breather tabs etc.
As can be seen from the photos it is still in excellent condition inside, outside and underneath.
The car is still running Hydrolastic suspension which gives a comfortable but taught controlled ride.
The original 1275cc engine has had a full rebuild to include pistons, shells, bearings seals etc and a rebuilt unleaded head.
The original 3 synchro gearbox is fitted with a new clutch.
A standard Cooper 'S' 3 branch manifold and exhaust is fitted as was the original oil cooler with the correct pipes.
A new wiring loom was used with a Lucas B90 exchange dynamo and control box which perform perfectly.
The original Servo was rebuilt along with new master cylinder, calipers, discs brake pads and shoes and brake hoses.
The original 4. 5J steel wheels were blasted and painted flat silver and fitted with period Dunlop tyres and chrome hubcaps.
Period correct BMC logo seatbelts and a NOS Zebra zone windscreen were fitted.
The interior retains the original trim which is in excellent condition including the headliner, with only the carpets being replaced with the correct type.
The chrome gear stick and steering column drop bracket and the black vinyl dash top are all present along with the iconic 130mph speedometer.
The heater has a new core.
A period roof aerial and parcel shelf speaker are fitted should you wish to install a period radio.
The headlights are the period correct Lucas Sealed beam units
The Cooper 'S' badges front and rear are all original, the bumpers, over riders and Cooper stainless door trims are in excellent condition.
The standard steering wheel had been restored.
The boot has twin tanks and the original boot board.
The new SU fuel pump is fitted in the correct position with new braided fuel lines.
The car has a Heritage certificate and the V5 is present.
