The above is a brief summary. As pictured, there is a massive folder of all works over the years. Some more key info from the last 40k miles are:
- Alternator replaced
- Radiator
- Both rear SLS shocks (now NLA)
- Window regulators.
- Rear SLS height sensors.
- Two new batteries under warranty.
Issue:
The car will sometimes fail to start (1/ 10 times). This is believed to be a faulty Battery Disconnect switch. Using my Nocco booster it fires right up and behaves perfectly again. Part is NLA so trying to source a used part.
Exterior:
The Biarritz Blue metallic presents itself very well as can be seen from the photos. As per age and mileage there are a few, little marks around the car however this is me being very fussy.
The genuine E38 M Parallels are recently refurbished (last 12 months) by Lepsons along with new, genuine caps and stickers. They were then shod with new Falken tyres all round then ceramic coated.
The only real negatives for the exterior are:
- Rear bumper has a small crack on the corner (visible in pics)
- Front end has minor stone chipping consistent with age.
- Rear arch lips are just starting to bubble on the inside. Very minor and cannot be seen without inspection but worth mentioning as an easy fix. Front wings are good.
Interior:
- The interior is in excellent condition and all switchgear and equipment works flawlessly.
- Benefitting from the recent redye, the interior was stripped to component level and the carpets, door cards and miscellaneous trim were replaced for black (not dyed). The leather was stripped and redyed returning the Nappa leather back to an OEM feel on completion.
- The headlining, parcel shelf along with the A, B and C pillars have been retrimmed in Alcantara due to sagging.
- M sport steering wheel professionally retrimmed by Royal Steering Wheels with M Stitch and OEM leather.
The only minor negative points are:
- The B pillar trims are loose as the clips have become brittle and failed. New clips are available for 130 USD and is an easy task for the new owner.
- The rear quarter window blinds do not retract back. They are simply left clipped in position and a very minor issue.
As can be seen from the above, this is a very loved and well-sorted car. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a turn key, modern classic that has had all of its major work done with no expense spared by enthusiast owners.
There is some minor fettling to be completed but this is for the new owner to decide upon.
Reason for sale is a lack of storage space and lack of use; as can be seen by the limited mileage in recent years.
