There are very few bikes with the performance and reputation of a 90’s Fireblade that have managed to survive nearly three decades without falling into the wrong hands, being ruined, written off or just racking up a load of miles. There’s also the now common scenario where many of the apparently original bikes have actually been restored using non genuine Chinese parts, aftermarket fairings and decal kits, none of which can come close to the quality of an original bike.
I’ll let the photos do most of the talking. The condition throughout is Superb. HPI clear with no accident history. It has one of the most comprehensive, documented histories I’ve seen with its old mot’s, original bill of sale, old V5 documents including its very first, old tax discs including its first, service book, owners manual, invoices and receipts for servicing work throughout its life and photos taken by previous owners. The mileage is certainly genuine.
Supplied new by Motorcycles Limited in Brierley Hill, the original sales invoice/ order form present and dated 1996 for a sum of £9917 including some extras and accessories of which the bike is still fitted with today. Spare key present with the one key fitting all locks and the original toolkit still under the pillion seat.
It has just been serviced and has near new Bridgestone BT16 tyres fitted, chain and sprockets are near new with minimal miles, it is very much ready to go with an advisory free mot until Feb 2026.
We have carried out a thorough inspection and road test to ensure it rides as it should, there are no flat spots, no hesitation, it starts instantly and idles perfectly on 4 cylinders. The carbs have been previously professionally cleaned and inside the fuel tank is like new with zero corrosion, it has been run on E5 fuel. The charging system functions perfectly and there are no areas of weakness with the bike at all.
The fork stanchions, fork seals and rear shock are all in super condition. The factory downpipes are in amazing original condition and don’t look to have ever been re-coated. It was ordered new to include a Micron silencer and Goodridge braided brake hoses, I may also have an original silencer for it in the loft (tbc) The brake hoses are a significant improvement over standard along with very nicely fitted R&G crash protectors which will certainly save a few tears by protecting the original fairings and tank should you be unlucky enough to drop it.
A nicer more genuine example would be difficult to find, combine this with the colour scheme, mileage, condition and history file, it really makes for a stand out Fireblade that will prove to be a worthy and wise addition to any collection.
