For sale is my 2011 BMW 520d SE, finished in Sophisto Grey with Everest Grey leather interior. The car has covered 112, 000 miles (still in daily use, so this will go up slightly) and drives absolutely spot on - quiet, smooth, comfortable, and with plenty of torque.
This is a fastidiously well-maintained example with just one owner from new until I bought it in February this year. It has a full BMW main dealer service history, and the timing chains were replaced by BMW Sytner High Wycombe at 88, 520 miles - a major job already taken care of. It's also had four new Bridgestone Turanza tyres fitted just 2, 500 miles ago, and I recently had a full four-wheel alignment done. It has both keys, and comes with a decent amount of paperwork.
The car is due an oil service, but it does not need front brake pads - part of the service schedule is simply for them to be checked. I have included a photo in the gallery of the front pads to show they are fine.
The interior is in remarkable condition with very little visible wear - it's genuinely impressive for its age. The exterior has a few imperfections marks and scratches, a fair few of which would likely polish out with a machine compound, though some will remain. However, it presents very nicely and in most cases, you have to look fairly closely to see the imperfections. The alloy wheels could do with a refurbishment - all four are marked, but this is an inexpensive job, given they are not diamond cut.
I originally bought this car earlier in the year as I changed jobs and needed something reliable for commuting, having previously worked from home, rather ironically, here at Car and Classic as an auction specialist!
It's done exactly what I needed and hasn't missed a beat. The only reason I'm selling now is that I've upgraded to a 530d Touring - I'm a musician and I need the extra space!
If that wasn't the case, I'd be keeping this one - it's been solid, dependable, and a pleasure to drive. The engine is sweet - and regularly returns an average of 47 mpg on my commute, which is mostly motorway.
It's clear that motorway miles were mostly what were covered by the previous owner too, as the only really noticeable point of wear in the interior is the button for the cruise control! The air con is also ferociously cold.
I'm happy to consider sensible near offers, but remember this is a straight, well-looked-after car with one previous owner and full BMW history - not a tired, high-owner example. It's a clean, honest car that's ready to go.
