Description
2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 - Warranted 16850 Miles - 3 Owners
A reluctant sale of a highly collectable Cooper Sport 500. However lack of use, extremely busy life and other cars has lead to the decision that something needs to go.
Supplied by Howards Rover Dealership, Weston Super Mare and registered new to its first owner on 31st January 2001. The history file contains 10 past MOT certificates along with many service stamps and receipts.
All importantly this mini is one of the last 500 to be made and has been confirmed by the Mini 500 Register and is car number 27 / 500, complete with the Mini handbook pack and leather wallet, 2 original Mini keys with original Carnelian leather keyrings, key number tab and alarm fobs.

Exterior
The instantly recognisable Mini Cooper Sport 500 with large body-coloured extended wheel arches, 2 driving lamps and 2 fog lamps and an aftermarket twin chrome exhaust.
Finished in stunning Tahiti Blue paintwork with platinum silver roof, door mirrors and bonnet stripes and one of only 128 in what is arguably the most popular colour.
The paintwork is in great condition all round as you would expect from such a low mileage example. Complimented by the Cooper Sport silver twin coachline and Cooper decals on the rear wings. Unmarked chrome all round, perfect scratch-free tinted original glass with the etched chassis numbers in place and original Carnelian Rover Dealer number plates.
All original 6 big lights... Wipac headlights along with the full bank of Rallye-Style fog and spot lamps, high mounted stop lamp and Carello rear light units.
Interior & Equipment
The black and nickel-silver original leather seats are in great condition - as you would expect for such a low mileage example. Leather duo-tone steering wheel with airbag, beautiful turned-alloy fascia with leather top complimented by traditional cream dials with chrome surrounds, black leather gearstick gator, polished alloy gearknob, polished alloy door furniture and commemorative plaque inside the glovebox.
The original black carpets and Original Rover Mini R660 Radio / Cassette.
Standard Equipment
Headlight Levelling, Drivers Airbag, Front Seat Belt Pre-Tensioners, 2 Speed Heater Fan, Twin Point Fuel Injection, Side Impact Beams, Alarm System, Tinted Glass, Oil Temp and Battery Condition Gauges, Analog Clock, Opening Rear Quarter Windows, Rallye-Style Fog and Spot Lights.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Filling the extended Cooper Sport wheel arches are again in excellent condition 13 x 6 inch Cooper Sport Alloy Wheels. Fitted with all matching original 175/ 50 R13 Yokohama A539 tyres, the space-saver spare has never been fitted.
Brakes - Servo assisted, diagonally split dual circuit system with front discs and drum rears.
Handling is razor sharp as you would expect from a Mini Cooper, rack & pinion steering, and independent suspension.
The mini has also benefitted from the aftermarket smootha ride kitted, works for which are documented in the service history.
Conclusion
This Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 is a rare and sought-after limited-edition modern classic British city car, offered with very low mileage from new. Unfortunately, many years ago when these rather collectable minis were not as valuable as they are today, the car was subject to the lowest level of insurance marker - a cat D, with all remedial works carried out by a professional body shop. Its rarity, condition and service history should not be ignored to this marker in its history. It is, after all, number 27 of just 500 examples produced,
I welcome all questions and encourage any serious buyers to get in touch to arrange a viewing.
