When it comes to restorations, do not let the mileages put you off, as they are often better than lower used examples.
This is one such car that underwent a complete body off restoration by TVR experts Str8six which was completed in 2016. Everything was either new or rebuilt to a concourse condition.
With the fully rebuilt engine carried out at 91k miles, this car is barely run in.
A rare 400 producing 240bhp and 270lb torque, it’s no slouch and with twin cherry bomb exhaust sounds amazing.
At the same time of the restoration the gearbox was also fully rebuilt along with new suspension bushes and dampers.
The full respray by experts Surface & Design is a stunning Paris Blue. This is complemented with the blue interior, new blue hood, new windscreen and OZ split rim "Imola" alloys in silver with chrome rims. The car will also come with a folding Surrey roof which is great for those European trips.
It also benefits from a leather clad, full rollover bar.
Now with just 106k miles or 14k since rebuilt its available for its next custodian.
During my ownership I've completed 3 major European road trips and the car has performed faultlessly, latest one to southern Germany in June racking up just under 2, 000 miles.
The GKN differential was rebuilt around 3 years ago but has recently started to grumble, so this will be replaced with the later BTR diff before sale. The car comes with the usual stone chips at the front so paint not perfect, but will also come with 12 months MoT.
The factory alarm was replaced by Clive Baker and now has the boot release on the key fob. The battery has also been moved to the boot to provide more space in the passenger footwell. A Pioneer stereo and new speakers have been installed though the burble of the exhaust is probably the only sound you'll hear.
In my ownership the car has been looked after by Taylor TVR with regular servicing and anything else it needed. Great fun car for a Sunday blast or as a GT for those longer road trips and the sound from the engine is epic.
