Description

A reluctant sale of my Toyota MR2 mk3.

I’ve owned this car for a little over a year, it was bought as a weekend play toy/ station run car but in reality hasn’t been used more than five or six times in that period. In fact it’s most use until very recently was to and from the local garage for its MOT.

I’ve owned these in the past and chose this car as it’s from the last year they were sold in the UK which means it has the best engine to avoid the usual oil burning issues. It does seem to be a strong unit and pulls well.

The car has spent the majority of it’s life in southern england, Cornwall and Dorset mainly, so is in pretty decent nick underneath.

This is the ‘base’ model which means no aircon and cloth seats - lighter as a result and slightly grippier seats should you want to track day it. The seats are also in good condition with minimal wear.

I have the original wallet with the car, 2 keys, a wad of receipts for servicing etc and a log of its past history. The service handbook is not fully stamped but there is a fair amount of info/ records to confirm it’s been serviced regularly.

Recent expenditure includes:

-Front discs and pads
-Full engine service, including plugs, oils, filters etc
-New rear subframe (the original had been welded in the past)
-Two rear brake calipers
-O2 sensor
-Front tyres (rears done in the last couple of thousand miles) all Toyo’s
-Four wheel alignment

As mentioned earlier, it comes with nearly 12 months MOT, only selling as I just can’t see it getting used this year either so time to let it go.

Like any old car there are a few bits and bobs which may or may not bother you:

-Small amount of lacquer peel here and there
-Dent in nearside rear wing under vent although I think this should pop out
-Front nearside spotlight has some crazing - I have a spare in the glovebox
-Roof has some wear - I use a half cover (included) and have never had any leaks using this. Whilst not immaculate, this is a honest example of a late model mk3 that runs well and has had most service items/ issues addressed.

I bought it to run around in so the small imperfections don’t bother me, however a small amount of tlc could rectify these.
