Finally decided to part with my New Hudson.
Model 3 1931 OHV 500cc .
An extremely rare machine, only seen another on a bike tour in Holland many years ago
For a 94 year old bike its in pretty good condition.
I would say everything is still original spec,
the pipes and silencers obviously must have been changed before my ownership of 6 years as they are pristine items.
The rims, hubs and spokes also are very good.
Of course the bike is not a mint or recently restored, its just overall in very good order with everything working.
The tinware although not shiny and un -chipped still remains in exceptional straight condition.
Tyres and battery are the only recently replaced items.
A feature of this period was to have most of the instrumentation in the tank panel , A la Ariel square four amongst others, and it does set the bike off really well.
The tank has been lined at some point with the clear gel type liner solution, but inside the tank looks very good with only a small amount of corrosion, certainly nothing to be concerned about as with some.
Another unusual feature was to have the advance/ retard adjustment being implemented by the left twist grip , like a throttle, probably not many manufacturers adopted this idea but works really well.
Its had 6 owners in its lifetime, v5 present in my name ,
Transferable number, not my thing to change or sell separately, possibly worth a few bob that one! HY1880.
Difficult to price as I have never seen one for sale except when I purchased this one.
A rare machine in very good order from a famous marque and have priced it on its rarity and clean original condition.
comes with various manuals, parts diagrams and a few mot's and a magazine feature.
Questions answered to the best of my ability, think I have covered most angles.
