Description
The Morgan 4/ 4 Le Mans 62 was a commemorative model to celebrate the victory of Chris Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Baron in the 2. 0-litre class at Le Mans in 1962. Numbers were strictly limited; there were just 40 4/ 4s and 40 Plus 8s produced. This example is chassis number 77 and was built during August and September 2002. It was registered in October 2002 and has had just a single keeper since then. The odometer shows 193, 500 miles; however, there was a new Zetec 1800 engine at 100, 484 miles in December 2014. The floor was replaced at the same time, with the cambelt done at 162, 702 miles. The car has been fully-maintained regardless of cost. The MoT is valid to February 2025. Extras on the Morgan include full weather gear including tonneau, chrome luggage rack, cream hard-top and radio. Recent work has involved replacement kingpins, manifold and radiator, plus a new soft-top, steering lock/ shaft, and master cylinder.
The car is running well with no known problems, with its soft-top in very good condition. It also comes with its original hard-top.
The chassis is original. Paperwork includes the V5C, EEC Certificate of Newness, MoT certificates, and a very large stack of invoices covering the car's entire life. There's also a Morgan history book, spare keys and the owner's handbook with service book, stamped up to 187, 955 miles in June 2023 by the marque specialist Stratton Motor Company. I can send a video of the car via watts app to any interested parties. Le Mans Edition, 1 of 40 cars ever made.
