RESTOMOD !, I'm advertising my completely rebuilt 1977 Trans am restomod.
I have taken it back to every last nut & bolt and completely overhauled or replaced every item. It is not for purists !, I built the car for safety and reliability. I will list everything I can think of but there will be things that I've missed so please ask if you need something clarification.
Engine = Speartech LS3 6. 2 (new at build), approximately 450 bhp with Vortec mapping by Chris, oversized aluminum radiator.
Gearbox = Belived to be 6L80e (came as part of engine package). Silky smooth 6 speed automatic.
Suspension = Hotchkis TVS stage 2 package (tubular upper & lower arms, oversized anti roll bars, lowered coil & leaf springs, all new bushes. C5 front hubs (spindless bearings).
Steering = Flaming river rack and pinion conversion with tilt steering coloum.
Brakes = oversized booster with new master cylinder & proportioning valve, rear disc conversion, front brakes belived to be corvette c5, came as part of hub package.
Interior = new door cards, new carpet, reconditioned dashboard, seats just re cleaned, new headlining (alacantara effect with diamond stitch), full welded and painted roll bar in the rear.
Exhaust = custom built 3" stainless steel, a work of art, with cross over pipe and bypass valves which operate from a tiny compressor in the trunk and a remote key fob.
Wheels = 17 x 9 snow flake replicas from classic industries. Tyres only covered 500 miles and tracking set correctly at set up stage.
Bodywork = the shell was completely bare metaled and we soon realised the rear quarters were badly repaired previously, complete new rear quarters, new door skins, lower front wing repair panels, new hood finished what was a very solid shell, fully undersealed and then the new stainless brake and fuel lines were added.
Completely painted in high gloss black.
There are a couple of minor blemishes in the paint but I built the car to drive it.
I should add that every rubber seal has also been replaced at the time of build.
I should also add that the 'firebird' on the bonnet is not a decal, it is a one of a kind, air brushed design, completely free hand by a true artist who used different colour metal flake and real gold leaf before it was sealed in with many coats of lacquer. It draws crowds whenever people see it. Should of mentioned at the beginning that this is the 'hurst' t top car, fitted on 77 cars (and a few 78's), gets a brand new mot every year and has been given a guaranteed value of £60, 000. The car is far from original, but was built for strength and reliability, it starts 1st time, everytime and turns heads everywhere you go in it.
It can be as quiet on a cruise or as loud as you want it to be with the switchable exhaust.
