This Rolls Royce Silver Spirit was delivered new by Jack Barclay in London's Mayfair in February 1984
The paint colour I believe to be Regency Bronze/ Gold with contrasting parchment hide, piping and carpets are in caramel, the top roll is upholstered in dark chocolate leather. The wood veneer's are all in walnut. The car was optioned with the desirable Sundym glass and it retains its original rear footrests.
Now over 40 years of age the car is classified as Historic therefore road tax is now free and no MOT is legally required, despite this I have just put a new MOT on the car to provide the new owner with peace of mind. It has the correct Avon Turbosteel tyres all round which give the best ride & handling.
The manuals are all present although the service book is missing, numerous MOT certificates date back to the mid 90's and major recommissioning works were carried out in '21 at a cost of £8, 122 by renowned marque specialist Nigel Sandell and it shows in the way it effortlessly drives and stops. They say you should only be able to hear the ticking of the clock in a Rolls Royce, however this example has a digital display so you can only hear the creaking of the leather I'm afraid.
The condition of the interior is exceptional, the leather is virtually unmarked, as are the carpets but the lacquer on the walnut is lifting, the exterior condition is pretty good for an unrestored 41 year old car but the paint to the roof, bonnet and boot have lost their lustre. It could be wet flatted and given a new clear coat to bring it back or just leave as patina.
To sum up this is a great usable old Roller, the cabin really is a fantastic and enjoyable place to be but it may be best suited to being driven as a daily in London since it is also ULEZ exempt Sorry Sadiq!
