Description
This is a very rare Japanese domestic market (JDM) only 4 seat coupe designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1966 which shares many design elements with the Fiat Dino.
This example, made in February 1977, has a 1817cc inline 4 SOHC engine with a Bosch D Jectronic electronic fuel injection system and a 5 speed manual gearbox. I have owned it since 2019.
During my ownership it has had a bare metal respray in its original Isuzu white paint. It has also had other repairs done including a re-trimmed dashboard and a new hand-made stainless steel fuel tank and upgraded fuel pump. It has been properly maintained and had regular MOTs with all findings rectified. Current mileage (@09/ 03/ 26) is 101, 344 (63k miles). It has been, and still is, a very reliable car.
It is a car that gets used and is not in concourse condition. Structurally and mechanically it is in great condition. There are however some paint bubbles and a couple of small dings to the chrome-work. The driver side window winder works fine but also needs attention.
I am now looking to find a new home for it as I have recently bought another classic car and I don’t have the space for both. I will be happy to answer any question as best as I can and am open to serious offers..
Made in Japan in February 1977. Imported to the UK in 2015. Unusual, elegant, stylish and very rare. Described by some as one of the best looking Japanese cars ever made. There are very few of these in the UK. Approximately ten 117s on UK roads and only three or four of these with the original round headlights front end. It always gets admired and appreciated wherever it goes.
The rear seat is perfectly usable for people of 5ft 8inches or less.
Thanks for looking.
