Description
1966 VW Beetle originally 1300cc Beetle finished in the lovely original factory colour of Sea Blau L360.
I purchased this car, which was built by a friend that over the years has fully restored several Beetles and many other cars.
It’s had a ground up restoration with new floor pans, heater channels & any and all rusty areas were cut out and replaced with new metal.
It’s had a full respray and has been machine polished.
The car is in immaculate condition!
Later 1600cc engine fitted with new Empi carburettor which pulls it along nicely.
The fuel tank and cap have been colour coded
It’s been fully re-wired and converted to 12volts.
The inside of the wings and arches have been protected with stonechip and wax oiled in all crevices.
Powder coated front and rear bumper irons.
Custom made steel running boards with correct rubber trim applied on top.
Interior treated to new seat covers, door cards, TPi door pull with chrome trim, new headliner, new carpets and matching beige seat belts.
I would describe the look as classy resto-mod.
Since I have owed the car I have:
Fitted brand new stainless steel front and rear bumpers.
Fitted a brand new stainless steel body trim kit and new rubber grommets.
Fitted brand new polished aluminium running board trims.
Brand new front windscreen.
High quality Wolfsburg West window rubbers with chrome inserts (which were professionally fitted).
Fitted a pair of original Hella headlights fitted with stainless steel security bolts.
Added super bright orange LED sidelights and connected them to the indicators.
Fitted all red taillight lenses (originals will be included) with stainless steel security bolts.
Fitted new Empi black textured wiring cover and period correct fixing nuts.
Fitted 5” wide front Smoothie steel wheels and 6” wide rear Smoothie steel wheels with brand new Genuine VW chrome hubcaps (which are almost impossible to buy now!).
The wheels have been powder coated off white and fitted with brand new front and rear tyres.
Nut to stud conversion for extra safety (original VW bolts can be supplied if you prefer).
Fitted a chrome Porsche Fuchs style chrome spare wheel and brand new tyre.
Fitted dropped spindles, new KYB shocks, new ball joints and new wheel bearings to the front.
Brand new ivory steering wheel and brand new matching grab handle.
Replaced the standard plastic rear view mirror with a Genuine VW polished aluminium deluxe version.
Fitted a wicker parcel shelf (this is fitted with Velcro so can be easily removed if it’s not to your taste).
Fitted the very expensive Vintage Speed quick-shift gear knob and linkage which vastly improves gear selection and general feel.
Fitted a Jepson period correct raised digit rear number plate.
Will be supplied with small custom made front number plate (unfitted).
For its age and lowered suspension the car still drives nicely, yes it’s bumpy and noisy but that’s part of the charm & it’s 60 years old!
It’s gets lots of attention everywhere it goes; so security wise it has a very loud remote control META Thatcham approved alarm and immobilser fitted and a very useful hidden battery cut off switch as well.
The interior is spotless and boasts new headlining, re-trimmed sun visors, custom made parcel shelf and TPi grab handle with chrome trim.
There is also a volt meter and 12v cigarette lighter socket hidden in the custom made glove box.

I have just had the car fully checked over by a specialist vintage VW garage and had new brakes, new bowden tube fitted.
Car can be supplied with a full MOT if extra piece of mind is required.
