Description
I have for sale my 1997 Fiat Punto 60s, it's a 1. 2 8v with the renowned FIRE engine for those who know there Fiat's!
I've had the car since 2019, in that time it's had a new Valeo clutch, as well as two years ago a new head gasket and valve replacement at a cost of nearly £800!! The timing belt, tensioner and water pump was replaced along with the alternator belt.
It flew through it's MOT in June this year, it also needed a leaking radiator replaced which I replaced last month so the car is in tip top mechanical condition.
It does has some paint lacquer fail on the bonnet and top of the tailgate, but otherwise the paintwork is good. Although it has some minor marks, scratches etc.. consistent with age, but I did pay a paint-less dent company to remove a lot of the dents and carpark dings it had suffered over the years.
The interior is clean and tidy with no rips or tears, and being a basic model it has no central locking, power steering or electric windows to go wrong!!
I had to replace the original radio speakers in the rear as they had failed, but the car will come fitted with it's original Fiat Radio cassette on sale.
It drives nicely and it's as comfortable around town as it is on the open road, it's great for everyday use if you want a basic modern classic car.
It has all the keys, including the red master key and did replace one of the keys as it had broken. The Punto comes with all it's original handbooks, plus all the paperwork and receipts from my ownership as when I bought it had no history except for a partially stamped service book.
The car has some 14 inch Fiat alloys fitted which were a period accessory when the car was new which I fitted, however if preferred the car can be fitted with the original 13 inch steel wheels and Fiat wheel trims that were on the car when I purchased it for a slightly cheaper price.
But if you want the alloys left on the car, please note the steel wheels come with it anyway as I have no need for them!!
All in all it's great little run about, I'll be very sad to see it go but unfortunately due personal circumstances I have to sell it so hopefully it can find a good home! This one is a bit rarer since it's an early UK launch Punto 60, as it replaced the Punto 55 here and according to records it's one of 4 still licenced as being on the road for Punto 60's registered in 1997!
Which why I bought it as I hadn't seen another one on a P reg before, it's a great car to drive and quite fun despite it's modest power.
Plus it's practical and I can drive it everyday if I need to, it's good on fuel and will fit in most household garages without bother.
I do get people stop me at petrol stations and say I used to have one of those, and it's true because these were a very common car which is now a lot less common!
