Description

I am a classic racer and current F3 champion with BHR BEARS, I bought this 750 to go up to F2 class. I bought a drum brake model which I was told was the one to have. This was a mistake when I spoke to the lads that raced them in the day - I should have got the SF2 with twin discs which are more suited for racing, the SF (Super Frenni) big Laverda drum brake is excellent for road use but maybe too heavy for racing. I bought the bike from an importer who eventually let me know it was previously the property of Giovanni Laverda, I have a purchase receipt from Gio' so it has some provenance - it had to be restored. The bike was in a sorry state considering it was advertised as "just put a new battery on it and change the oil" I have stripped and rebuilt the bike from top to bottom including the engine, this has been vapour blasted and refurbished to a high standard. The cycle parts were repainted in Laverda blue but changed slightly to my taste. It had a short Rickman seat with brand new embroidered pad, there is a digital rear light / number plate holder. All chrome work has been done and the list of new parts is extensive as follows:- all engine seals, bearings, piston rings, valves ground, gaskets, cam chain, wheel bearings, front and rear tyres, forks overhauled, dynamo overhauled and belt replaced, new shocks, new clip-ons, new cables, clutch plates, carbs vapour blasted and U/ S cleaned. I have fitted a reversed Honda MX front mudguard as a rear mudguard which sounds weird but is a known Laverda tweak, looks made for the job. Ran out of steam and retirement approaching so it has goWith the previous ownership by the Laverda family, and uncompromising spending on refurbishment this is a unique chance to own a bit of history. I can only repeat what I was told by the previous seller about the connection, but I do have pictures of the bike and Giovanni. I have the NOVA paperwork but not registered the bike yet, I wanted to put a personalised plate on it 750SF or Lav 750 perhaps. Requires enthusiast to finish but all the complex (and expensive) work is done
