There are not many XJS Celebration convertibles in such exquisite condition, with so few owners and such a low mileage as this beautiful example.
Finished in carnival red with oatmeal piped and embossed leather, it has an enormous history file and has never in my ownership been driven in wet or damp conditions. It has been maintained superbly and garaged, with a dust cloak in my garage at all times.
The bodywork, roof and upholstery are all in impeccable. The wood is also unblemished.
Under the bonnet the straight-six engine purrs exactly as it should. Everything works as new and the the car comes with the Celebration extras (piped and embossed leather seats, wooden gear knob, diamond-cut alloys, chrome wing mirrors and headlamp bezels. It also comes with the oatmeal leather hood cover and storage bag for the cover when not in use.
I also have two new Pirelli tyres for when the existing ones need replacing, along with the original sales catalogue.
The car was registered in February 1996 and I purchased it December 2017. Prior to this it had been with the previous owner since October 2005, whom had transferred it from his father in law. Essentially, this car has resided with two households, making it a very rare beauty.
The service book has been exhausted of stamps, amounting to 19 service stamps, plus I have had further services carried out. It has never been wanting on the maintenance side and comes MOTd until March 2026.
During my ownership it has covered around 5, 000 miles, including annual trips to Goodwood Revival events.
I have owned several XJSs over the last 25 years and this is my favourite by far, however I cannot justify ownership now that I am driving it far less than it deserves.
The car will come with the cherished number plate GJI468 and all originally manuals, books, keys etc.
I have this priced very competitively for its history, mileage and condition. It is less than I paid, even though values have risen considerably in recent years. You will not find a better example for less than £35k!The colour of this car is simply gorgeous. Carnival red was used only for the Celebration models, not the pre-1995 XJSs. The alloys were unique and it represented every conceivable improvement Jaguar could have made over the lifespan of the XJS. With E-Types topping out in value and the XJS in the ascendance, this also represents a fabulous investment opportunity.
