Reluctantly selling my immaculate Toyota MR2 MK3 Roadster.
2006 (06 Reg – currently on Private ‘MR02’ plate which will be included in sale) - one of the very last MR2 Roadsters.
4 previous owners – I have owned since January 2017 and the car has always been garaged during my ownership. Used as a weekend and sunny day fun car - not communing on rainy days!
Mileage is low with 56, 207 miles and MOT history clear of issues of concern.
4 keys (2 x good remote, 1 x master, 1 x older remote with slight damage to casing).
The previous owner in Welwyn-Garden-City was an older gentleman who had owned the car for around 8 years and also always garaged it. He sold the car to me as he’d had an operation on his left hand and so was buying an automatic.
I searched for quite some time to find the car in spec / colour I wanted, but most importantly in the outstanding condition this car is with no signs of ever having lived by the coast and without any forms of rust issues.
This car is a truly outstanding example having been riven and used, but kept beautifully and maintained to a very good standard with many items having been refurbished during my ownership.
Spec includes:
- Red with original black hood in excellent order (absolutely no leaks).
- Full Air Con –working ice cold
- 6 speed manual
- Leather seats (Immaculate, recovered professionally in recent years)
- Upgraded Bluetooth / hands-free head unit with upgraded speakers (using original holes only). Original CD head unit can be included in sale if required.
- Front & rear sub-frames treated inside & out with Dynax for protection.
- Refurbished powder coated wheels in anthracite finish (15” front, 16” rear OEM wheels)
- Professionally refurbished brake calipers painted white with EBC brakes all round and upgraded braided brake lines to replace old rubber hoses & brake fluid flush.
- Refreshed suspension with new KYB shocks and replacement springs.
- TTE (Remus) rear silencer sourced from a similar 2006 car (sounds lovely)
- New Clutch in 2022 – around 3000 miles ago, plus quality replacement gearbox oil.
- Excellent service record with all receipts and preventative maintenance such as new timing chain tensioner, water pump & coolant refresh. All works carried out myself, but with receipts. The car has been very well looked after.
As you will see from the photos (more can be supplied if required) the car is truly rust free and immaculately presented for a near 20 year old car.
In the interests of honesty and not wasting anyone’s time. the only bad bits I am aware of:
- A very small pin dent on rear wing (see last photo circled – you need to know it’s there really).
- Stone chip in windscreen passenger side – has been there many years and is the original screen so didn’t want to change it.
- A small chip on passenger door handle (2nd to last photo) – was there when I bought the car, and didn’t get any worse so haven’t ever had it sorted.
- Front tyres starting to wear – picked up at last MOT. Will change them if required but still legal so haven’t change yet.

Selling slightly reluctantly as if I had more space I would keep, but am considering a change and hope can find a new owner who will love it as much as I have.

Finding one that wasn't tatty, rusty, heavily modified, faded or peeling clear coat, etc wasn't easy.

I have now owned this car for 8. 5 years and, whilst I am obviously bias, believe this is a very honest, reliable and beautifully presented example. It has genuinely never let me down and has been such a great car and so cheap to run (£335 tax, and £150 fully comp insurance for me at 45 years old).
