1996 Citroën AX 1. 0i Debut 5-door. New MOT.
AXs are getting quite rare now and this is a nice example of the even harder to find 5-door version.
Being one of the last of the range, this gorgeous little car has the benefit of the single-point fuel injected TU9 engine so it’s even more economical than the conventional carburettor version, and has a bit more power too.
Like the previous owners (very good friends), I’ve looked after our AX, with regular servicing, brakes, exhaust, clutch, cambelt, tyres, etc, and it’s never let me down.
It’s still a very presentable car only being let down a few minor things: There’s some rust on the edge of the bonnet and a small dent on a rear door, the usual issue with Citroens of that time, with the lacquer on some panels, the cover-material on the driver’s seat is torn and one rear light lens is slightly damaged.
