I am the second owner of this excellent last of the great straight six Mercedes SLs which continues to carry its personal number plate as registered on 28th February 1997. The car is Polar White (149) with a blue leather interior (262). I bought it 2 years ago via a Mercedes Specialist from a well known local businessman who had bought it new from Rycroft Mercedes Stockton on Tees as a retirement present for himself. As such it is very well specified with, amongst other things, leather upholstery, electric memory and heated seats, rear seat, electric adjustable steering column, fire extinguisher and a third brake light! The hood is Blue (744). The vehicle has a full dealer and specialist history every MOT certificate and Tax disc to warrant the very low mileage. It has a current MOT until 1st April 2026 with no advisories. On purchase I put four Goodyear tyers on it and had the alloys refurbished. This vehicle is as it left Rycrofts in February 1997, including dealer stickers and over-mats. It comes with exceptional provenance which includes the original bill of sale for £66, 398. 99 and all service invoices. It is in excellent unmodified condition and is driving very well indeed. It is kept undercover and never sees inclement weather.
I bought this car because of its rock solid history and the way it drives like a three year old car! It must be one of the best around.
