Description
Extremely reluctant sale of my beloved 2000 Honda Civic Aerodeck 1. 6 vtec Automatic. I purchased this car in march 2024 through a private sale and in my ownership it has become nearly a full restoration with approximately £3, 000 spent on repairs and restorations (at mates rates!).
She has 5 former keepers and under 91, 800 miles on the clock. I’ve always run it on E5. MOT doesn’t expire until August 2026 and it had a lot of work done to pass its recent MOT test.
I had every intention of keeping this car, knowing it is one of few left in the UK and the value is appreciating. But sadly, with my partners company vehicle imminent and owning another daily driver which better suits our needs, the Honda is now back on the market and looking for her forever home. A LOT of love, time and money has gone into this car and I know her worth, so I’m happy to wait for the right buyer; someone who will love her the way I do. I simply can’t and won’t take peanuts for her. That said, she is not yet fully restored and some issues remain. She is therefore priced to reflect these issues. I’ve tried to be as clear as possible about the flaws in the photos.
I may be forgetting a thing or two but from what I can remember, the following work has been completed in my ownership:
Refurbed calliper carriers front
Front pads and discs
Headliner resto (changed from light to dark grey- not a professional job but a huge improvement to when I bought the car)
Electrical repairs to sensor wiring loom (ECU), internal lights and O/ S/ R taillight
Replacement rear headrests (took over a year to source)
Fog lights blanked (still have original surrounds- I was holding out for some original replacements but apparently these are hard to come by so you could install aftermarket ones)
New rocker cover gasket
New A/ C and recent regas
New rad
New genuine Honda thermostat
Rear silencer removal (straight through)
New rear pads
Major suspension works-
New rear control arms
New rear trailing arms
Upgraded Polly bushes
Front shocks
Headlight polish
Sunroof drain hose repair
New battery
New blower resistor
Various rust repairs and rust prevention measures
Both rear ABS sensors
New MAF sensor
Full service
This list is not exhaustive. I’m probably forgetting some things. It’s a lot to remember!
She still needs:
Rust repairs around the top of the windscreen (see photos)
Door fabric repair
Rear speaker covers
Minor oil leak needs looking at
Exhaust may need further work in future but fine just now
Fog lights if you’re bothered by the blanks
Small scratch repairs in some areas (she still looks beautiful after a polish)
She has developed a creaking noise from the front when stopping at low speed. I expect this is a bushing somewhere in the steering/ suspension and I’m confident this wouldn’t be an expensive fix. She is still fully drivable and mileage will increase slightly- I won’t have her sat there doing nothing. NOW RESOLVED
She comes with 4 keys (2 standard keys, one fob (not working but not needed), and the original red master key in its packaging. She has a HUGE wad of history with everything logged up to 2022. I believe between 2022 and my taking ownership, she was stored and only taken out on very short journeys to keep her limber. In my ownership, nearly all work completed has either been done by myself or my friend who is somewhat of an informal Honda specialist, so bills aren’t available but the photos and MOTs speak for themselves.
Knowledgeable homes only please. She is not a delivery car, she is not a scrap car and she is not a “I give you £100 and I collect now” car. She is for the true enthusiast/ collector. Export considered if the price is right and the transaction is a simple one; I’m a busy lass and I’m unable to take phone calls, so messages only please.
I will update the ad with some further photos of interior in the coming days. I bought this car because you don’t come across them often anymore- my research suggests there are only 68 of these cars left in the UK and 40 of them are currently SORN. She’s a niche car (in the best colour in my opinion), that looks great when given a polish and grabs the attention of car enthusiasts. I also bought it knowing I had a knowledgeable friend that would be able to help me sort any issues with it. I needed a reliable automatic car and that’s what I got. She’s never broken down on me and she successfully done a 1200 mile round trip to Scotland last year. I love this car. I’ve owned around 20 different cars in the last 10 years and this Aerodeck is my favourite. I will be extremely saddened by her sale and hope there is someone somewhere that will love her the way I do, finish of her restoration and get years of enjoyment from her.
