Background
This is a genuine “hen’s tooth” example of Mercedes’ legendary S124 — groundbreaking for its time as one of the very first estate cars with a fully integrated 4-wheel-drive (4Matic) system.
The car has been in dry storage since 2007 (18 years) and remains in completely original condition, retaining rare details such as:
• Original wind deflectors on the windows and sunroof
• Original roof rails
• Factory leather and woodwork in excellent order
Work Completed / In Progress
The car is currently undergoing sill replacements, with repairs to the jacking points being professionally completed.
The front passenger wing has been replaced due to a rust patch.
Mechanically, it’s sound — engine, gearbox, and AWD system all function as they should.
Before sale, it will receive a comprehensive service including:
• Engine oil & filter change
• Gearbox oil & filter change
• Rear differential oil change
• New fuel filter
• New air filter
The car has been stood for some time, so it’s being properly recommissioned — whatever it needs will be done before delivery.

Summary
A rare, appreciating classic from the golden era of Mercedes engineering.

With so few remaining on the road, this is a fantastic opportunity to own a piece of Mercedes-Benz history.
Serious enquiries only.
Priced accordingly to rarity, condition, and provenance. I purchased this car as an investment with the goal of restoring it to its former glory. Initially, I considered adding an AMG kit and giving it a sportier look, but I ultimately decided to preserve its originality — which I believe adds to its long-term value.
These 4MATIC models are quite rare, and this example mainly just needs paint to be brought back to its best condition. I own a few other classic cars, some of which require full restorations and are currently a higher priority. Unfortunately, I’m limited on funds at the moment, so I’ve decided to sell this one to free up cash to continue my other projects.
