Rear engine 1600cc.
Rare Automatic. Right hand Drive. Two owners from new.
Unmodified.
Cream paintwork.

I have owned the car for the last 23 years. I'm second owner from new.
Have documentation and service history, some going back to when car was new including original VW service wallet and the two original owners instruction manuals that came with the new car.
MECHANICS
Original engine, had top end job some years back and runs very smooth. Auto gearbox was checked and serviced and overhauled also a few years ago and works like new.
Car drives like a dream, very smooth.
All mechanics brakes etc in great condition. Stops and starts like it should.
INTERIOR
Original interior.
Has original factory fitted rubber in rear area and original rubber wheel arch covers in excellent condition very few cars still have this.
Original basketweave seats in very good condition apart from minor sagging.
Original headliner is excellent apart from the sections left and right of front windscreen which were damaged when window removed to deal with rust on edges.
Original rubber floor carpets beneath drivers and passengers feet are present but in poor condition.
Original factory accessory under-dash rack fitted.
EXTERIOR
Rare original VW opening side windows.
Front and back original chrome bumpers in good undented condition.
Front bumper mounts have been welded so not as original but are solid.
Fitted with Firestone R 165 tyres all with perfect tread including spare.
Chrome and brightwork generally good.
Floor pan under rear passenger area has been welded.
External body generally good. Some colour variation on body paintwork. Some surface rust in roof gutters.
Chassis has rusted at corners and pan edges and will need welding and attention. (see photos)
Rust under front bonnet bulkhead beneath window (But spare wheel area and inner wings are all good solid metal.)

I have owned and driven this car for 23 years, it's been to many VW shows as well as it sharing daily family driving duties with our Beetle. It has proven a reliable car as well as getting a lot of attention. There are only about 800 type 3's on the road in the UK, even less Variant estate models, less still right hand drive and even less automatics. The car is unmodified with nearly all original parts, most surviving cars now are customised or have non standard parts. Cars with nearly all original interiors are very rare. This makes the work needed on the car well worth the effort.
A personal inspection by any respective buyer is essential as photos cannot show how good the good bits are or the condition of the chassis properly.
