Description
Genuine Phebus trike that was built in 1899 in France with a 2. 25 hp air cooled De Dion Bouton engine with a bronze crankcase. Engine, frame, wheels etc fully restored and ready to race, rally and enter the London to Brighton and Pioneer Runs.
There is a VCC Dating Report, Dating Certificate and Pioneer Run Certificate.
The handle bars, fuel tank and pedal cranks have been nickle plated and there is a period leather seat and tool bag fitted.
The trike has previously been on display in a Dutch museum until acquired and renovated by the previous owner Peter Fryer (DDB Club Chairman). I bought the trike in 2017 and have competed in several DDB Club races and even won one. The trike also took part in the 2024 Montlhery Centenary race which included several laps of the banked circuit and a special shorter track.
The trike is running very nicely with an Amal carburettor fitted. The earlier Zenith carburettor comes with the trike.
Included in the sale is a bespoke trailer to transport the trike around.
