The 1951 FBW bus was used until last year to transport guests for weddings. Before that, it served as a postal bus in the Swiss mountains. It delivered mail to people living in the mountains and also offered them the opportunity to hop on and ride back to the village. In winter, the bus took on another task: keeping the route up the mountain clear of snow, for which it was equipped with a snowplow.
The bus is in good technical and visual condition. It has a beautiful cream paint job with blue details. The interior is also neat, with benches that originally came from an English double-decker bus but are perfectly suited to this postal bus. This bus has a passenger transport license and is approved for the transport of 30 people, excluding the driver.
The bus's engine runs smoothly and starts immediately. The bus is equipped with a gearbox with high and low gears, which he needed in the mountains, but in the Netherlands, the high gear is sufficient for driving around. When driving in high gear, the bus has four gears. This bus easily keeps up with traffic and can reach speeds of 80 km/ h.
Bus has Dutch registration.
