Selling my Jaguar S Type 4. 0 V8 Auto
This is a survivor. Not too many 4. 0 V8s on the road.
I have owned her for 13 years. For the first 2 years she was my daily driver. When I purchased an XF I kept her to keep for Sundays as I loved the sound of the V8.
Over the years she has done fewer and fewer annual miles, to the point that I fear she will go to ruin if not used regularly. Work and other commitments mean I don’t get time to take her for a run or to car shows.
The good bits Generally she is in good condition. Straight body work. Clean paint and a gorgeous ivory leather interior with a wood rim steering wheel
Recent new tyres and refurbished alloy wheels. Serviced and MOT’d in August.
Recent rear wish bones and track rod ends.
The bad bits.
A bit of lacquer peel on the OSR corner of the bumper. A slight exhaust blow on a joint on the NS. goes away when warm but could do with attention. The interior headliner whilst it is not sagging, it could benefit from a clean. Being closed up with no ventilation does not do the car any favours. Cruise control doesn’t work. I suspect the switch on the steering wheel to be the culprit as it turns on and off but won’t set the speed.
Intermittent boot open error. Have changed the switch on the boot but I suspect it is a faulty cable on the wiring running through the hinge as the issue comes and goes.
A scuff on the wheel arch by the NSR door and also on NSR corner of the bumper Looks like a seat belt was shut in the door. A few stone chips on the front edge of the bonnet. These have been touched in. The sat nav has never worked. But it appears that the dvd reader is missing. I have an original cubby box to replace it. Probably more useful.
This is by no means a show car but it is a lovely usable classic. It just needs a loving owner who is going to use and enjoy her more than I have been able to for the past few years.

A large folder of receipts since I have owned the car. I originally bought this to replace my XJ40 that had expired. I had wanted another XJ, but not being able to find a reasonable one for the money I stumbled upon this S type that was mint compared to the rough end of the market XJ’s. And after test driving it I fell in love how effortlessly it drove.
When I purchased a new XF a couple of years later I semi retired the S type to keep as a Sunday car and to take to classic car events with the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club.
Alas I have not had the time to use her as much as I would like the last few, and as we know these cars don’t like sitting around, so it is with a heavy heart I have to let her go to someone who will appreciate and love her like I have for the past 13 years.
